Michael Adrian Peters
Michael A. Peters is Professor of Education at the University of Waikato, New Zealand and Emeritus Professor in Educational Policy, Organization, and Leadership at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. He is the executive editor of the journal, (''Educational Philosophy and Theory'' ), and editor of three international ejournals, (''Policy Futures in Education'' )'','' (''E-Learning and Digital Media'' )'', and (Knowledge Cultures ). ''His interests are in education, philosophy and social policy, and he has written over sixty books. He is a lifelong (Fellow of the New Zealand Academy of Humanities ), an Honorary Member of the New Zealand Royal Society, and a life member of the Society for Research in higher Education (UK), and the Philosophy of Education Society of Australasia
==Education==
Dr. Peters holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature and an honors degree in Geography from Victoria University of Wellington, and Masters and PhD from the University of Auckland. His PhD was in the Philosophy of Education with a thesis on the philosopher, Ludwig Wittgenstein. He was also awardwed a D. Litt, (honoris causa) from the State University of New York.
